At MTI College’s Microsoft IT Academy in Sacramento, our Network Administration and Security program is training tomorrow’s top network administrators. Our graduates are expert managers of Microsoft Windows Server technologies. Plus, our program prepares students for the successful completion of the CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications, a required certification for many IT career paths.
Our fast-paced, hands-on program keeps you engaged from the start. You’ll gain experience with Linux, network security concepts, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012 R2. Our students use networking simulators to build virtual server-based network infrastructures from the ground up.
MTI is an official Pearson VUE testing center. That means that when you’re ready to take your Microsoft certification exams, you can take them on the familiar MTI campus. We’ll also give you the practice and tutoring you might need to pass. In 2014, over 90% of the students who participated in our Test-Pass Assurance Program passed their Microsoft certification exams.

Graduates from the Network Administration program are eligible for positions as server administrators. Additionally, our Network Administration and Security program prepares students for Microsoft’s MCSA Windows Server 2012, CompTIA Network+ and Security+ exams. Together, the MTI associate’s degree, MCSA certification, Network+ and Security+ certification are the keys to a successful career in IT. MTI College, an official Microsoft IT Academy in Sacramento, uses the MOAC (Microsoft Official Academic Course) material to assist students in achieving certification. Students receive the benefit of certified instructors and an exclusive curriculum that’s been directly approved by Microsoft. Furthermore, students get access to Microsoft Dreamspark, a collection of full-version software for students to download, learn, and practice the most important IT skills.

Get Industry-Recognized Certifications
The Network Administration and Security program provides preparation for the following certifications:
- Microsoft Exam 70-410 Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012
- Microsoft Exam 70-411 Administering Windows Server 2012
- Microsoft Exam 70-412 Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 Services
The successful achievement of these three exams earns the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification.
In addition to these certifications, students receive training in network security to prepare them for the successful completion of:
- CompTIA Exam N10-006 Network+
- CompTIA Exam SY0-401 Security+
All students receive classroom instruction, materials, practice exams, and support to help prepare for exams. MTI’s effective Test-Pass Assurance program provides the preparation necessary for students to feel confident about passing their exams.
Get Job Placement Assistance
MTI is proud of its graduates. We provide job placement assistance for everyone who completes our program. For the 2014 reporting year, over 90 percent of our network administration degree program graduates who registered for placement services, or who did not register but found employment on their own, were successful in securing employment in their field of training.
MTI provides information technology graduates with resume writing assistance, job interview coaching, and other job searching tools and resources.

Based on the number of Network Administration graduates in the 2014-2015 award year (7/1/2014 – 6/30/2015) who registered for graduate placement services and secured employment in their field of study, and those who did not register and successfully obtained employment on their own.
MTI’s job placement rate calculations are based on the award year July 1 to June 30. The unadjusted rate represents the percentage of total graduates who obtain employment in or related to their field of study. The adjusted rate represents the percentage of graduates who are actively looking for work and obtain employment in or related to their field of study. The adjusted rate does not include graduates who are not looking for work for reasons such as continuing education, remaining at current place of employment, military service, health issues, death, etc. For more information on these calculations, refer to the Job Placement Rate Calculation page.
Percentage of students who graduate within the published timeframe: 21%
Note: The percentage shown above represents students who graduated from the program on or before the published graduation date. The majority of the remaining students completed the program within the timeframe allowed by the U.S. Department of Education, which is 150% of the normal program length. A student’s graduation date may be delayed by a few days or a few months due to circumstances such as the need to retake a course or the need for a leave of absence to care for an ailing family member.
