in advanced cosmetology and cosmetology business skills. MTI College is meeting
this demand in 2012 with the introduction of the Associates Degree in Salon Management
program
About the Associates Degree in Salon Management
The MTI associates degree program for Salon Management is designed to teach cosmetology
students the skills necessary to manage a successful business in the beauty industry.
Students will learn about product marketing, personnel management and developing
strategies to lead a salon to success.
The business management skills that will be learned in the associates degree cosmetology
courses include all of the following and more:
- Merchandising and in-store design
- Building a loyal client base and creating an positive customer experience
- Providing supervision and leadership for staff
- Marketing, advertising and market analysis
- Conducting retail sales, managing inventory and tracking commissions
- California labor law
- Effective time management and organizing skills
Graduates of the Salon Management Degree program will have the training required
for a number of careers in the beauty service industry. Some of these careers include
becoming a general manager or owner of a salon or day spa, salon sales representative
and beauty supply retail manager.

Job Placement Assistance
An education is valuable, but it is not of much use if you cannot find a job. That
is why MTI College has full-time job placement officers ready to assist you. For
the 2011 reporting year, 100 percent of our cosmetology program graduates who registered
for placement services, or who did not register but found employment on their own,
were successful in securing employment in their field of training. In addition,
as a MTI College graduate in good standing, you are able to take advantage of these
services on an unlimited basis.
