Systems Engineer with SECURITY
SPECIALIZATION A.A.S. Degree Program
MCSE Training Program
MTI
College offers two MSE programs: a one-year
Diploma program and the following two-year Associate's Degree
(A.A.S.).
MCSE Training Program Objective
Computer network security is more important now than
it’s ever been! Companies are prioritizing the allocation
of resources to handle increased threats to their information security.
Employers value IT professionals with certifications that demonstrate
they have met industry-set standards to handle the ever-changing
demands of managing a computer network. MTI’s Microsoft System
Engineer program is responding to the demand for qualified network
security professionals who can do the job!
Year
One of this two-year program will prepare the student for employment
in end-user application work, computer operations, technical support,
or a related computer field. Through hands-on instruction, students
will become proficient utilizing desktop operating systems and various
office applications commonly used in today's market. Students will
also focus on fundamental networking concepts as well as developing
skills necessary for troubleshooting and supporting hardware- and
software-related issues. This program will help students prepare
for the CompTIA A+ certification exams for computer technicians.
Exam vouchers are provided for students who meet the requirements
of the A+ Test Pass Assurance (TPA) program. Students are strongly
encouraged to pass the A+ Certification prior to advancing to the
second year.
The second year of the mcse training program degree is
designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary
to pursue employment as a systems engineer with a security specialization
in a Microsoft Windows 2003 environment. A heavy focus is placed
on achieving MCSE: Security on Windows 2003 certification (including
CompTIA’s Security+), which is comprised of successfully passing
seven rigorous exams. Similar to Year One’s TPA, exam vouchers
are provided for students who meet the requirements of MTI’s
MCSE Test Pass Assurance (TPA) program. The TPA is designed to support
students by tying course outcomes to the objectives on the corresponding
Microsoft exams as well as providing the labs and practice material
required to pass the exams.
While preparing for certification and employment, students develop
skills to effectively plan, implement, and support systems in a
wide range of computing environments using Microsoft Windows 2003.
This includes applying widely used tools and technologies to perform
routine system administrative tasks as well as to design scalable
networks. Coursework also covers the installation and upgrade of
desktop and server operating systems, and the configuration of services,
protocols, access, and routers per client specifications. Additionally,
students become proficient in identifying, troubleshooting, and
resolving network problems with the appropriate tools, utilities,
and resources
Our goal is to provide a well-rounded education for students as
they prepare for a career in the information technology field. In
addition to becoming increasingly proficient in applying the skills
and knowledge directly related to becoming an MCSE, students also
practice the “soft skills” (such as teamwork, problem
solving, and professionalism) that all employers require.
