Office Administration,
Diploma Program
MTI College also offers a two-year Associate (A.A.S.) in Business
Administration Degree as well as the following office administration
diploma program.
This diploma program may be completed in approximately 36 weeks.
Office Administration Course Objective:
To qualify the student for employment in entry-level positions in
office administration. Students will gain knowledge of computerized
business applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
Office Administration Course Description:
Business Support Specialists perform a variety of duties that may
include composing and processing letters and other correspondence,
scheduling appointments, transcribing recorded communication, greeting
clients and filing. Due to advancements in business technology and
in the use of computers, facsimile machines, and voice mail, Business
Support Specialists are performing more complex responsibilities such
as researching and preparing statistical data, supervising, and training.
Students
who successfully complete this office administration course
are eligible for advancement to Year Two of the A.A.S. in Business
Administration Degree.

Employment Trends:
The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts an increase of approximately
400,000 jobs by the year 2005. These positions are generated each
year as experiencedworkers transfer to other occupations or leave
the labor market. In addition, as companies continue to downsize,
there is an increasing need for Business Support Specialists to
handle complex assignments that were previously handled by middle
management.
